India is the largest democratic country in the world. India sits on the Southern tip of Asia between the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. It shares political borders with Pakistan, China, Nepal, Bangladesh and Myanmar. Encompassing a total land area of over 3 million square kilometers, India is roughly one-third the size of the United States. A natural biosphere, India has many types of climate ranges from tropical to temperate over a varied landscape of deserts, mountain ranges and jungles. With an estimated population of over one billion people, India is a melting pot of five major religions and over 24 different spoken languages.
The Hindu Political Party called B.J.P. (Bharatheeya Janatha Party) is the ruling party in India. Though India has presidents in each state, the head of Government is the Prime Minister led by a group of cabinet ministers.
Rice, wheat, vegetable and other food products are grown in India. People are primarily farmers with each family owning a small piece of land for agricultural purposes.
